Frankly I would much rather they do that. I hate that tipping is almost considered a social obligation rather then a optional charge. As far as I'm concerned I shouldn't have to tip for merely average service... that should be built into the wage and I should (and would) tip for exceptional service. I do tip because that's not the way the world works but it just seems silly that I need feel obligated to do so.
It's just dishonesty in pricing if the price is artificially lower because of a psuedo-optional third party service subsidy.
