He was a starter. The best option. Then gets invited to the World Cup in 2010, only to sit.

More titles, than every other CM option. Actually, you have to sum the other CM's trophy cases together to even equate to Carrick's.
He was one of only FIVE players not to play a match. You know who else didn't play? Dawson, Warnock, Heskey & Hart. Two obviously don't rate. One is past his prime. He didn't play his best keeper, nor play his best holding midfielder.
Yet, this manager digs in his heels to fight for his choice in captain John Terry. This same manager's last seven invites to Carrick, resulted in ZERO field time. So what does he do? He's been treated like crap & asks not to be invited by Capello if he doesn't start at the Euro's. What's the point? Logic didn't prevail before for the ol don, why should it that summer?
Let's not disregard, that his son was 5 days old, when he had to leave for South Africa. Oh no, no no no guys.. for God & Country right!
So then why go? This brilliant manager, obviously doesn't rate him. And then Roy comes trotting in and through misunderstanding from the Capello escapade, he hears Carrick won't play for England.. and doesn't invite him. No phone call. Nadda.
