We had this happen to our men's hockey team:
One player on our team was not out of the closet but we were all sure he was gay.
As a team we never discussed it or had a problem with it. He was a member of our team and a pretty nice guy so he was welcome.
But then...
One night out drinking with the team and the guy gets bombed and tells a couple of players on the team that he loves another player who was not there at the time. It was not a" luv you man" kinda expression more of "I LOVE him"
Now it is uncomfortable for the loved but straight, not interested guy. He didn't ask for this and now he has another person, who loves him, watching him undress. Yes we did notice him doing this and delaying his shower time to match the straight guy's too.
The following season he was not invited back, we didn't tell him why. We felt bad as he was just a confused young man at the time.
This was about 10 years ago now and I still wonder what we could/should have done different.
