What many are forgetting in this situation is that these guys are professionals. Some of them choose to act more professional than others.
A gay guy who has made it to the NFL has showered in the same locker room as other buff and ripped guys for probably 10+ years. Despite what shows like Queer as Folk would have you believe, most gay guys don't need to check other guys out - ESPECIALLY in their place of work.
I would go so far as to suggest (based on my own locker room experiences as a gay woman) that many closeted pro players are more uncomfortable than most in the locker room because of their sexual preferences.
