If he had shot the men while they were still in his home and threatening violence against him, I wouldn't have a problem with this being a justified shooting for self defence. However, when you shoot people in the back while they're running away, including executing one who is injured on the ground, I have a hard time believing that a reasonable person would consider them a threat to one's safety.
