How about:

Reporter: So would a gay football player be welcome on the team
Player: Sure, why not. If someone can contribute to the team, who cares if they're gay.

Reporter: Do you think gay players should keep their orientation secret
Player: Like I said, it doesn't matter to me. Unfortunately gay players probably do feel that they need to keep it a secret, but hopefully that isn't always the case.
