Since the Haida case back in the 70s it is well established under the constitutions protections that Aboriginals are not a defeated or surrendered nation. We have treaties of understanding in Canada not surrender papers.

It might be unclear but I just don't see why we commit money to individuals for things that happened over 65 years ago...As for the first nations I understand that maybe technically they didn't surrender but I still don't see why we can't get rid of the treaties and make all Canadians the same.
