It isn't the worst location, but when demographically much of the money is in Scottsdale and the east side of the city, and it seems many of he northern migrants (from the northern US, as well as seasonal Canadians) are on the opposite side of the city, it does make it hard to do that drive anywhere near 40 times a year.
It's not the only problem by any stretch, but it sure isn't helping.

A friend of mine worked at TPC Scottsdale a couple years ago. I guess they can get free Coyotes tickets (through the course) whenever they want but he only ever went to one game because "the rink is in the middle of ####ing nowhere"
Hard market made even more difficult because they built the arena on the wrong side of the valley.
