My girlfriend gets mad at me when I say she isn't an artist cause all her paintings are copies of photographs.
That makes her really angry
To this effect and to elobarate on my "electronic music producers are more talented then your average "musician" who can play a random instrument" post, I get a big chuckle when someone calls themselves an amazing musician cause they can play someone elses solo on the guitar.
While it is something that requires skill, it is definitely not art. You're not creating anything. You're not special.
