Nope. There could be smaller arena attached for minor hockey, curling, smaller concerts but there's no reason the main building can't house hockey, football, soccer, and baseball. Block off the upper bowl for hockey with the advantage of utilizing up to 25,000 for playoffs (playoffs???) or even 30,000 for a winter classic with the roof open. 30,000 for football with luxury suites which is a way the Stamps can make more money rather than trying to get 30,000+ in McMahon. Have the lower bowl able to shift for baseball to bring AAA baseball back and soccer field if the Flames want to get into MLS. IMO this makes a lot of sense for the Flames ownership over just another arena. Calgary needs a retractable dome because our weather is too cold for spring/fall outdoor spectator sports.
