i do not like pets in general and find people's love for animals misguided.

People who don't like the beatles are the same people who think shakespeare is over-rated. I suspect that these people actively strive to dislike popular art in an effort to cultivate a personality that can be interpreted as rebellious.
I believe that the first world is firmly entrenched in mutual peace, and it's citizens will never see combat unless volunteered or hired to do so.
