The fact that this story has cooled down and a lot of people don't care about it anymore is because their initial thought about Manti being involved in this hoax and making it all up has been discredited.
So now all the conspiracy theorists out there are trying to come up with new ridiculous story to fill their heads. "Well, he might not have been in on it but he's got to be gay".
