You're absolutely right, I don't know if it's fact or not. All I'm doing is going off all the evidence that's come out and it's pretty telling to me that Te'o wasn't involved in this whatsoever. I've found nothing that tells me that he was in on this hoax.
However, If you talk to somebody who thinks Te'o was involved and ask them to provide you with any evidence to support their claims, all they tell you is well, it's impossible to have a relationship with someone strictly online without ever meeting them. Or how could someone be that gullible and naive. Or he did it because he wanted to get Heisman votes (even though it was during the 3rd week of the season and nobody could've predicted the type of season the Irish would have).
Regardless, nobody can ever give any evidence claiming that he was in on this from the beginning. It's all specualtion, hence the gay angle being played now. First he was in on the hoax and then after the evidence came out saying he wasn't and this Tuiasosopo guy said he was playing him the whole time, now Manti must be gay.
Look, I know I'm a ND fan and a big fan of Te'o of not only what he's done on the field but off the field especially. The guy is just a good human being. But honestly though, I could care less who it was. Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty. It seemed like as soon as this story became public, everybody was so quick to slam this kid and say that yup, there's no doubt he was in on it instead of waiting for all the evidence to come out.
I don't know, I guess we'll all agree to disagree. I'm just going to let the story keep playing out and we'll see what happens in the end.
