I remember a April Fools Day joke that talked about some kind of galactic disastor that would blind people if they looked into the sky at a specific time and the only way to protect your eyes was to use the glass from a pop bottle, and sure enough at that specific time hundreds of people looked skywards peering through pop bottles.
