Here's my stab at the racism/prejudice difference.
Racism - "I think that guy is probably stupid because he's an Indian and Indians just aren't as smart as white people"
Prejudice - "I think that guy is probably stupid because he's an Indian, and due to a lot of factors (socioeconomics, education systems on reserves, etc.) Indians just aren't as smart as the average Canadian"
I think that if confronted with a Doctor who happens to be an Indian, these would be the reactions:
Racism - "There's no way I'd go to that Doctor, he's just a stupid Indian and his Medical School was probably afraid to fail him due to political correctness"
Prejudice - "Really? A Native Doctor? Considering all those factors stacked against him (socioeconomics, education systems on reserves, etc.) he must be really smart to have graduated Medical School."
