Guilt you? I don't understand what you mean by that.
In any event, "take responsibility for your life or your [sic] doomed" seems like a rather myopic view of the world.
I suppose there is no point in trying to address the historic social, political and economic inequalities that conspired to force these children in Kabul to sift through rubbish to eek out an existence then? All we can do is to tell them to buck up and take responsibility for their lives?
Well, it saves us a lot of trouble and a lot of dealing with difficult, sometimes uncomfortable, questions. It does have that attraction to it I suppose.
