I suspect there is little 'we' can do to help 'them' but at the least we should acknowledege it is historically our fault and the wonderfull country 'we' enjoy was bought at a huge cost to 'them'.

I had have absolutely nothing to do with what happen 100 years ago - or even 50 years ago or 40 years ago - yet i have no choice but to pay for it.
sometimes it's better to stop looking back and to start looking forward, you need to get over the past to do that. Plenty of people have gone through the same thing and moved on - pushed forward.
