Was just surfing around the net, looking at past Flames draftees etc, and I'm wondering if the Flames scouts are still keeping tabs on a couple of past Flames picks.
First off, Henrik Bjorklund, who was drafted 111th overall in '09 seems to have made a big jump in production this season. He's never really put up more than 0.50 ppg in his pro career, and all of a sudden this season he's got 36 points in 31 games in Allsvenskan.....one point shy of the league lead.
He's still just 22, big right handed shot at 6'3" 210 lbs.
Secondly, and this ones really off the board, but Alexander Deilert who was a 7th rounder in 2008 has put up some decent numbers this in Allsvenskan as well.
20 points in 37 games has him 5th for all d-men in the league in scoring. He's supposedly a mobile RH d-man with plenty of smarts and puck moving ability. He turns 24 in a couple weeks, and when you think about it, that would be somewhat similar to signing a free agent college player.
I guess he's a top notch golfer and was dividing his time between that and hockey, but has supposedly recently focused his attention 100% to hockey.
Probably nothing to see here, but just thought it was interesting.
