I really don't get why great lengths need to be taken to ensure Jankowski is sheltered from any sort of critique? He's a first round pick. Anything short of a great second half this year would be a disappointment and hopefully based on his play of late he should be rounding into form.

That is just silly though. We know Jankowski was a 1st round pick but at the same time we all knew he was a project and was off the board. Jankowski was a player the Flames really think can develop into a potential superstar but no one is expecting it in the next year or two. If anything judge him more harshly next year and compare him to the 2013 first round draft class as he will be closer to the same age as players from that year.
By the end of the year it will be interesting to see how Janko matches up with the top prospects for 2013.
