It's a FN protest and the majority are FN and in the context of the insults thrown at FN in this thread, it's definitely directed at them. This whole thread is about their protest. You can dance around all you want but the truth is plain. At least be a man and take credit or discredit for your views.
First of all, you're intellectually dishonest as all hell so I don't think you should be lobbing personal attacks at anyone. Second, it's not like there's one white guy at these things. A significant proportion of these rallies is comprised of "allies" who either agree on an informed (to some extent or other) basis with some element of the INM cause. There are also a number of individuals who don't really understand the issues and simply want to go protest against "the man" in the vein of many occupy protestors. The fact that the people in this thread who oppose these marches don't seem to particularly care whether a protestor is actually native or just accompanying the protest for other reasons (legitimate or otherwise) would seem to undermine your viewpoint.

People have been holding protests and marches for years and this is the first time in this country I've seen them being threatened with violence for a little inconvenience.
Occupy movement. Plenty wanted that cleared out by any means necessary. The force contemplated here is not really any different from that which was contemplated in removing those people from Olympic Plaza or elsewhere. Of course, in general, the Occupy-ers just congregated in public areas, they didn't blockade roads or cause any intentional inconvenience to the general populace, for the most part.

Here is the difference, Vulcan.

Racist: I think First Nations people should be hurt or killed because (X), where (X) is "they should get jobs and stop blocking traffic" or "they protest and I disagree with their protests".

Not racist: I think people who blockade roads and trainways should be pushed out of the way with a cowcatcher.

I actually think the latter is what was intended. I would wager that the individual posting that image could not care less about the ethnicity of the a-holes blocking Mcleod Trail, or what their political motivations may be, and in fact just wants them to get the hell out of the way of traffic.

This is also a component of my perspective on this proposed protest march: I don't give a flying f*@# what you're for, if you choose to exercise your right to political free speech by breaking the law, the consequences of breaking that law apply to you (whether the appropriate consequence is a ticket or arrest).

I do not promote applying consequences of breaking a law by means of cowcatcher, but I suspect that that was tongue in cheek by the individual who posted it anyway, as no one actually expects a cowcatcher will be used to break up the protest. However, if in the judgment of the decision-makers responsible for effective law enforcement in this city the use of riot gear is necessary to disperse the protesters, I take no issue with the force that will necessarily accompany the use of those methods provided said methods are employed on reasonable grounds and said force is not excessive in the circumstances.

You can think otherwise, but it's pretty obvious you're just looking for a way to allege racism to somehow get the high ground here where none exists.
