No calls me a troll because I have a realistic perspective as do the rest of unbiased hockey journalists. I haven't read or heard of 1 single person saying the flames will finish in the playoffs.
I personally have them pegged anywhere from 10th to as low as 14th depending on how things go and that's only because we are likely to see a 12-16 point gap between 8th and 15th.
I am a realist. Unfortunately the team I cheer for, The Flames, are not. Even their management is convinced Jarome should be a Flame for life. I love the idea to death but I do think it's unfair to Jarome. Nobody looks down at Raymond Bourque for doing what he did.
As we sit right now there is simply no reason to believe the flames will be cup contenders in the next 2-3 years.
I'd personally prefer we have one short season of pain to hopefully put together a quicker rebuild.
Talk on the Fan 960.
Iginla for Brayden Schenn
Kipper for Morgan Reilly
Draft either Drouin, Jones or McKinnon and all of the sudden we have FOUR stud prospects. Ramo coming in next year to play goal and we'd still have a good core of players in cammy, glencross, gio, wideman, etc.
I just don't get how management can't see this.
