That's a good point, I thought most of them didn't speak english but maybe they got their kids to phone in when they came over for Sunday night lasagne.
I just don't really see the benefit, so I hate watching some guy collecting $60/hr cruising down my street in $300,000 of equipment when the street was just as drivable before as after. If anything the old people should be glad people might drive a bit slower when it's snowy.
Now for anyone that parks at the curb they have to step through a giant slush drift to get at their cars.
The only reason it really bothers me, is if money is burned on this kind of uselessness, and no one in charge realizes it, where else is it being dumped down the drain? There are so many cool projects requiring money (new LRT lines, Central Library, the 16th ave/University drive overpass that now has exposed rebar...) and here we sit plowing streets that barely anyone drives on right before a week of warm weather.
