Although I see a lot of residential snow removal as unnecessary, if people have been demanding it, I don't see a problem with doing it during a chinook. It isn't as if all of the snow will disappear entirely, so it may as well be pushed off to the side in preparation for the next snowfall.
I honestly think that people jump up and down over "snow removal" but are actually wanting a better response to winter storms on a very immediate basis to keep the roads driveable. Both are entirely different, but my impression is that the media and a lot of the public don't differentiate the two.
