Yeah, that's similar to what I've observed. Wilson despite his size concerns was able to survive a 18 game season without getting nicked as a rookie, which doesn't happen too often. He seems to know when to slide, and as you say is shifty enough to avoid gettin clobbered. I have not watched as many Niners games, but I haven't seen Kaepernick take a lot of hits either, certainly not like RG3.
I'm not sure if this read option style will hold up either, or if it will go the way of the Wild cat or run and shoot. With the types of athletes they have, I think certain elements will stick, but in time these guys will throw more and run less.
