I fail to see the logic here, that cyclings governing body gave tacit and active support to teams drug use is not exactly a secret, we have for years watched the sports greats get minor slaps on the wrist when they got regularly got caught, we have had endless testimony as to teams being tipped off as to when tests were coming when the sport finally realised it could no longer get away with giving Merckx no more than a race suspension when they caught him taking stimulants.
It would be ironic if one of the worlds most corrupt sporting bodies banned one of the worlds most drugged sports when it had finally seemed to get serious and cleaned itself up some.
