You're really arguing semantics. It's a common to use the term "clip" when referring to a firearms magazine. It's a term used commonly amongst, military, police and private contractors. Maybe concern yourself more with the fact that AR-15 assault rifles are far too common and easily accessible in the US, than people using incorrect terms for nomenclature.
