^ I think I figured it out: New York claimed him off waivers late in the '74-75 season where he played 3 games. He was backup to John Davidson for '75-76, after Ed Giacomin (who wore #1) was claimed by Detroit. Looks like #1 just got recycled to Wilson (and later that year Doug Soetart).
