I didn't like Ortio's game at all last season when he was with the Heat. He had a very bad case of Luongoitis. Ten foot rebounds and fell to his stomach far too often.
By the sounds of it, he's doing excellent on a bad team in Finland. That can only mean good things, so the Flames should keep him there.
Does anyone know the rules regarding European players and maintaining their rights overseas?

When Glenn Hall used to coach the Flames goalies, he used to say it was better for young goalies to play on bad teams to get more work (I think he was talking more about goalies at minor hockey level, but I think the same would apply here.)
It's not like the Flames aren't deep in goalie prospects anyway, so another year overseas probably wouldn't hurt him.
