It isn't irrational. I agree with you 100% about a lot of the things you dislike about dogs. I hate dogs who bark incessantly as well (so much so that I made a huge effort to train my dog not to bark - some people want their dogs to bark though). I also think it's very irresponsible to not clean up after your dog (which is why that is an infraction with bylaw if caught). None of those bullets points are super irrational.

What is irrational, and I really hope you recognize this, is constantly trying to push your agenda (not liking dogs on a superficial level) by trying to make arguments based on non-statistical events (ie. dog attack epidemics). You've run through a bunch of arguments (muzzles, breed bans etc.) to fix a problem that doesn't really exist in Calgary.

That being said, dog attacks do occur and all owners need to recognize that their pets aren't human and do not think the way we think. The onus is on the owners to raise friendly animals and the onus is on bylaw services when corrective action is required. Take a look at that last incident. All dogs and owners involved were behaving improperly and have all been reprimanded.
