Thats fine but there are thousands of people in the community who have lost out big time due to the missed games of the season. Workers affiliated with the Flames, 'dome workers, pubs and restaruants and their workers and I am sure this list extends well beyond the obvious losses as well. The money lost goes well beyond the players wages.
What I suggested is not trying to pay these people back with dollars or discounts but with goodwill towards the community. The owners and players must know that the lockout hurt far more people than themselves and this would be a grand gesture.
I really don't want anything as a fan - I will continue to be one through thick and thin. The only thing that has changed for me is that the players are now irrelevant to me - only the team matters. Something like this may shift it back.
