It was always assumed 767, DC10, MD11 would be replaced by 777 but when airlines start replacing 747, 340s etc then you know the plane is good. Almost too good as it has cannibalized the 747 market somewhat.

What's funny is I always thought the 777 was the replacement variant for the 747. I think the 747 is sexier, and want to fly on one of those over a 777, but if I needed a long range wide body I'd probably get the 777 over the 747.
