Interesting. my 2 cents...
- I like the idea to try and mirror the NHL as much as we can but only where it makes sense.
- Would have liked to see some discussion about rule changes before decisions are made. I get the commissioners run the league, but 27 other guys put a lot of time in and should have some input into decisions especially fairly large ones like the #1 pick.
-How is the weighted draw going to be conducted? how is the league going to make this transparent to all GMs?
-While this would work to mirror the NHL I feel like it only makes it harder for the bad teams of the league to get better. As i have said many times before, there are a handful of perennially bad teams that need every advantage they can get to try and turn things around. Turning a surefire top pick into a lesser pick while increasing the chances that a good franchise that had a bad year increase the position of there pick does not seem in the best interests of a competitive league, long-term.
-This pretty much eliminates any accusations of someone "tanking". which is probably a good thing.
