Oh and the usual rate to make back a production budget is 2-3 times your budget. Dragon Tattoo cost 90, and only made back 230, so it's likely it barely made a profit in theaters. And with all the marketing and advertising that surrounded the movie, I am sure it's actual budget was pretty high.
I liked the movie too, but realistically I don't see much chance in a David Fincher sequel ever being made. Not saying another studio won't buy the rights and give it a smaller budget, but in its current form it's difficult to see it getting made any time soon.
