Weisbrod indicated that Gaudreau could probably turn pro now, but he was short in stating that he meant the NHL, so you may be right.
I wouldn't mind him staying another year at B.C. for the simple fact that he has another year to grow or at least get stronger playing a college schedule. But if the Flames truly feel his (small) size won't be too much of a negative factor,
and if Johnny feels ready to turn pro, then maybe a year in the AHL would be great...He would also get a few call-up games as well, if not more games than a few. (Really, depending who the Flames keep at the end of this year, could also be a determining factor of what is done with Johnny.)
At the very least, maybe more fans would come to Abby games if he's in the line-up.
