John Weisbrod on the Fan 960 today about John Ramage:

tough to tell where Ramage fits into Flames long term plans
has had an up and down college hockey career from an evaluation standpoint
good news is that this season may be Ramage's best
leader on the team, plays in all situations
has shown some bite and physicality this year that he hasn't shown in the past
most importantly Ramage has tightened up his physical conditioning and off ice work ethic - something the Flames and Ramage have been working on since Ramage's first training camp.
the times Weisbrod has seen him in person Ramage has played well

The interesting thing at the end is that Weisbrod wouldn't speculate on whether the Flames would be giving Ramage a contract. Said they would have to evaluate all the players coming in and the number of contracts they had.
