I never meant a free buyout. I meant one against cap, because of the low price or just let Kiprusoff retire (which I always thought was the intent of the contract...the last year at 1.5 always seemed like one Kiprusoff had intent of playing. Then again, I would have never expected him to age so well either)
Fair enough that he could be traded instead (which is always preferred over a buyout).
On the thought of that cap-contract value difference...Kiprusoff to the Islanders e5
