Nobody is saying you shouldn't be cautious with big dogs, but jesus you take it to the extreme.
I don't know, and have never known anybody with you're viewpoints on dogs.

Well in real life I wouldn't have the same discussion with a dog lover as I would on the Internet. If you're a dog guy, I'm sure any friends you have that share my views would keep them to themselves, as they should.
Where do you get that I'm not trying to teach my kids to live with dogs, anyway? Of course I don't want four untrained, unleashed rotties snarfing all over them. That's the responsible thing to do as a parent. If I can find a good, well trained dog to let my kids get comfortable with I will, but they aren't as common in my circles as they must be in your guys'.
Anyway, my son loves dogs and I think that's good and healthy and try to encourage it. My daughter doesn't like them - I'm trying to get her to relax around them more, but I don't see the point in making her try to love them as I can see what she's thinking when she wipes her hand on her jeans after touching them and her general look of displeasure when a dog tries to lick her or smell her face or rub its fur on her.
