Wow, completely missed the entire point. All dog owners need to be responsible for their dogs big or small. If a small dog goes around biting big dogs and gets hurt or killed because a big dog (that has little concept of size and strength) defends itself, it shouldn't be surprising.

Owners of bigger stronger dogs have a responsibility to make sure their dogs are trained and under control.

Believing that because you have a small dog you don't need to worry about it biting is extremely irresponsible.

I'm not saying small dogs are to blame, just pointing out, that it's wrong to think that way.

If this story is true, and the little dog did what has been stated then the owner of the small dog is as responsible for the situation than the owner of the pitbull.

The pitbull owner should have had complete control and he's to blame, but the pom owner can't have a dog that bites other dogs, running loose.

I still stand by the idea that pitbulls need tighter regulation not extinction. On top of that people need better understanding of their dogs and their dogs behaviors.
