Is there really a need to use the buyout for the Flames? Not really IMO, just a chance to rid themselves of a terrible contract like Stajan's (even though he will only have one year left).
It would be interesting to see which players would be bought out from other teams. Like Lecavalier, Luongo, Kovalchuk, and any other ridiculous contract.

Sign Iglina for 7M and Baertschi at 1.4 and Chris Butler at 2 that leaves 4.6 M to fill in 6 spots. Already counting Jones, Jackman and Derek Smith as guys under 1M. 9 players on the team making 1 M or less ?????
Either Butler or Brodie will be too expensive at 2M/yr
That is why, IMHO, someone making 4M + will be gone.
Pretty sure the Flyers, Canucks, Rangers.. etc.. Rangers are worse as their buy out almost has to be Redden or his 6.5 M willcount against their cap.
