If the latest offer were to be accepted I think that the cap drops from 70M to 60M and each team is allowed one "free" buyout.... that doesn't count against the cap..

Which contract would the Flames like to get of the books?

Cammalleri 1 year left 6M hit
Hudler 3 years @ 4M
Tanguay 3 yrs @ 3.5
Stajan 1 yr @ 3.5
Glencross 1 year @2.55
Stempniak 1 yr @ 2.5
Bouwmeester 1 year @ 6.68
Wideman 4 yrs @ 5.25
Giordano 3 yrs @ 4.02
Sarich 1 year @ 2
Kipper 1 year @ 5.83

Cammelleri/Bouwmeester/Wideman/Gio/Hudler and Kipper seem to be the ones that get the Flames down the most of the 8-10M they will need to drop..... that is if they plan to re-sign Iginla.

All the teams close to the cap will be in the same position needing to drop 10M in bad contracts so there will be some talented previously overpaid replacements to be had on the cheap.
