I am pretty sure there are 5 round clips as well.... I wouldnt argue to keep that. If that's a gun I can't have so be it. I have it because well ... it's fun to shoot. Target shooting , Turtle shooting... you know what country folk shoot at.

I am in agreement that fully auto weapons don't have a place in civilian's hands. I have shot a few fully automatic weapons in my life. They are pretty hardcore. However, after the first few shots . I couldn't hit the broadside of a barn with it so they are pointless to have...

I dont have a gun or know many people that have guns here that have clips in the 30-100 range. I just dont see it often. The aforementioned Uzi did I suppose but there is only one person I know with anything like that. The handguns that my friends and I use have 10 bullet clips in them.
My take on the psychology of guns is they are similer to the psychology of dogs, there is nothing fundamentally different about a Pitt Bull or a Rotty from any other type of dog, there is unfortunatly a type of moronic dog owner who is drawn to these breeds who shouldn't be allowed near a poodle.

Guns are the same, if all gun owners looked like my father in law with his fleece hat and jacket and bolt action .303 for deer hunting we wouldn't have much of a problem, but the wack jobs are drawn to glocks and semi auto civilian re makes of military kit because they are insecure wankers who need to see themselves as Rambo to make up for the fact that in reality they are fairly ordinary.

For most of these nuts it is about their image more than the killings themselves.

One thing the US should learn, and conservative gun owners are essential to push this point, is that large numbers of the population are not fit to have guns, that gun ownership, while possibly a right is something that should be somewhat difficult, there should be hoops and limitations so people take guns seriouslu down there, that is the essentail difference between Canada and the US.
