And you really shouldn't be shocked that First Nations have particular rights with regard to things like resources or self government since those things are clearly established principles of our country. The notions of "letting them" have so called "advantages" and "giving them things" that others don't get demonstrate a fair bit of ignorance of the historical and the legal basis for the current arrangement.
Finally, "let the past be the past" is a lot easier to say when you haven't suffered from generations of abuse stemming from it.

While I agree that reparations should have been paid and were deserved for the abuse, at what point is enough, enough?
I think an argument can be made that the "current arrangement" is causing their culture more harm than good.
