Less than four years after the Jets made a franchise-changing decision to move up in the draft for Mark Sanchez, they will attempt to trade the struggling quarterback after the season

The News has learned that Michael Vick, who is expected to be released by the Eagles shortly after the season, would be amenable to coming to the Jets if Sanchez is out of the equation.
“Bring it on,” one Jets source said about signing Vick if he becomes available. “He was hit too many times (behind a subpar offensive line) the last two years.”
Rex Ryan may be the X-factor to landing Vick, according to sources. Ryan has always had an affinity for Vick, who could potentially help save the coach from getting his walking papers after the 2013 season.
“(Ryan) loves him,” a team official said.

Vick will probably end up being a better option than Tebow or Sanchez, but he's not gonna put the Jets over the hump. That being said, is there even a market for Sanchez? The QB-needy teams in the NFL are the Jets, Cards, Eagles, Chiefs, Vikings, Browns, Jags, and Raiders. I don't think he's an upgrade over Kolb or Palmer. The Browns and Eagles are likely going to ride out another year of Foles and Weeden. If the Jags trade for anyone, it'll be Tebow. I suppose the Vikings would make sense if they decide that Ponder isn't the guy, but it would make way more sense for them to go after Vick than Sanchez. And I think the Chiefs are going to look to the draft for QB help.
Nobody is going to want to give up more than 4th or 5th round pick for a backup QB with that kind of contract, and why would Sanchez re-negotiate to go sit on a bench? He's got a whack of guaranteed money coming his way. I think the Jets are screwed. That was the worst extension that I remember ever being given to a player.
