It's true that Calgarians in general are harder on the city of Edmonton. Lots of people refer to it as a dump or a lesser city when you get into conversations about the cities in general. You won't hear too many Edmontonians talking smack about Calgary in general.
It's false when it comes to sports fans. I find Edmonton sports fans extremely abrasive and when it comes to the Flames/Oilers and Stamps/Eskimos rivalries. Edmontonians loath the Calgary teams much more than Calgarians loath the Edmonton teams. There's no getting around it the Edmonton sports fans are the most arrogant in the country as they all still pine about great 80's teams like it was yesterday. I see people in this city wear Oilers gear and never get grief but if you wear Stampeders or Flames gear in Edmonton you will get slagged.

I find that Vancouver is the most arrogant about their city and sports teams recently. It is a beautiful city so I get that and their hockey team has been good but still have never won the cup.
I agree that Edmontonians do not rip the city of Calgary as much as we rip their city but I also think most people from Edmonton recognize that Calgary is generally the nicer city overall. They have a rich sports history which is the best thing that happened to that city so I understand why they proudly tout their previous achievements.
