OT: Why the hell would anyone want to use a Telus service? They have the worst goddamn everything ever.

I used to agree with you. Shaw was great, and offered more flexibility for me, but over the past few years, I've been forced to use Telus, and I have to say, that the service has been rock-solid.
I was still planning on going back to Shaw in this new home, but when i learned that Telus now had a comparable package, at a lower price, it was pretty much a no-brainer for me.
Combine this with the fact that I have been staying with family over the past 5 weeks while I was house hunting and starting my new job here in Calgary, and they have the Telus internet and TV, and it's been 100% hassle-free. Those two factors were enough to convince me to go with them.
And with no contract, there's no real risk in doing so. If the service were to suck 6 months from now, or if Shaw unveiled a new bundle that topped everything else, I can switch without issue.
Win/win!
