It wasn't like Ennis or Carlson were hotshot prospects that everyone thought would be surefire NHLers.
The FLames could have picked Daulton Leveille who was picked 3 spots after Nemisz and doesn't look like much right now or Anton Gustafsson who was picked a few spots earlier.
Having watched Ennis in the WHL he was tiny and looked like he would really struggle in the NHL if given the chance. Sure it would be nice to have him now but if he couldn't make the transition a lot of complaints would be about drafting a 160 pound guy in the first round.
