Just a few questions so I can try to become familiar with the area...

Safe place to walk in the morning/evening? My shifts are 12 hours long and hinge on the 7 am / 7 pm shifts. I hope it isn't too rough, I currently walk downtown Edmonton to school everyday and experience no problems, so hopefully it's somewhat safe.

Secondly, is there any sort of mall or grocery store in the area of 36th St and 32nd Ave? Anything in the Sunridge mall?

Thanks again for all the help ahead of time and hopefully you don't find this too rude to be asked on the forum.

Thanks again, and can't wait to experience Calgary (and hopefully get a job there),

No a lot of pedestrian traffic in that area. East of 36th it is residential, west of it is commercial/retail. There are a number of grocery stores in the area - Safeway (as mentioned), Sobeys (where the theatres used to be), London Drugs has a small selection of groceries too. Beside Sunridge is Superstore.

When you are saying you are walking, from where to where? The hotels are over by Barlow, nothing on 36th per se (unless you get down to the Coast Plaza),
