If the jays make a deal giving up both Gose and D'Arnaud for Dickey... It would be AA's worst trade and its not even close. Trade your low A returns on Halladay after investing all that time and effort in them and being pretty lucky for them to progress and keep the blow up, for a guy who isn't as good and is 5 or 6 years older than Doc when he got traded? Who slipped the drugs into AA's drink yesterday?
Giving up two studs in single A is one thing, but these are two advanced top 10 prospects in AAA who are a year away from being MLB players. If D'Arnaud hits 250-260 his rookie year with his defence he's worth more than Dickey alone... 12 months later.
Would just be so incredibly short sighted. They will spend the next 5 years looking for a young talented receiver and possibly even a talented CF. Destroy the position player base at the farm and create massive holes... For a 38 year old 3 WAR pitcher with one year of service time left. Its funny farm stuff.
