I think it really depends on where you are. I love living in NYC, but it's certainly different than a lot of the country.

I have to admit though, that even though I see very few differences between the people in the two countries as a whole, things like this do make me pause to think about whether I want to stay here when i have a family. Used to be a no brainer that I would stay, now not so much.
