America obviously has a huge gun problem, but there's more to it than that. Were guns less readily available 20 years ago than they are today? I think it's more about a culture that makes everyone think they'll get their 15 minutes of fame, and when some of these mentally ill people realize they aren't as special as they were lead to believe, they do something like this to make sure that the world hears their name before they check out. I don't know what the solution is, but gun control and readily available mental health services are two good places to start.
